Shepherds Down School

Achievement, Fulfilment, Enjoyment

Welcome to our school

Dear Parents and Carers,

The information that you will find on the following pages will tell you a lot more about our school. Our core purpose is to meet the needs of primary aged pupils who have a wide range of complex learning needs.

Whilst we would love to welcome you on site to view our school and see what we do in action, unfortunately this just isn’t possible at the moment. We will reinstate visits as soon as it is safe to do so. Meanwhile there is a “virtual” tour of the school available here.

What we do

Our primary aim is to enable each individual, irrespective of their special need, to develop to their full potential.
We value an education which encourages children to grow in confidence and become as independent as possible within a positive, secure, safe and caring environment.

Teaching staff work closely with Therapy Services – especially Speech and Language Therapy; Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy. These programmes are an integral part of the child’s daily activity.

We are only accepting visitors into school if the visit is pre-arranged and is it absolutely necessary for you to be on site.

We would be grateful if you could read the visitors guidance at this link before you come onto site.

Thank you for your co-operation in keeping everybody safe.
