Hot Dinners are provided each day and are cooked on site by our wonderful cook Maria. Dinner times are a time where children are encouraged to put their social skills to use, eating at the table with their friends in class groups in one of our dining rooms.
The menu’s run on a three week rotation and are changed twice a year. A meat & vegetarian option is available each day.
Currently the cost of a meal is £2.50 a day.
Of course if your child would prefer, you may send in a packed lunch from home. Feel free to adapt your child’s lunch option to whatever you think they would like on the day. If your child does chop and change between school meals and packed lunches – all that we ask is that you write in the home school book whether they are having a packed lunch a school lunch each day.
HC3S can provide special diets for pupils with allergies and intolerances who want to have a school meal. Special diets are provided for pupils with a medical problem, not just a dislike of certain food. We will require medical evidence confirming your child’s allergy.
The standard primary school menu is nut free, all ingredients are manufactured in a nut free environment so all children with a nut allergy can eat the standard menu without having to register for a special diet. Please so remember though that we as a school stil require you to tell us about any nut allergies that your child may have.
Free School Meals
Under current government legislation all pupils in Key Stage 1 are entitled to a free school meal every day. Families who are in receipt of certain benefits are also entitled to a free school meal irrespective of age. We would urge any parent / carer who thinks they may be eligible to apply for free school meals as not only does this mean your child receives a nutritious meal at lunchtimes it also opens up additional funding to the school which will also benefit your child.
