What is Outreach?
An LEA funded service that aims to:-
- promote and support the development of inclusive educational practices within specialist and mainstream settings to enable staff to maximise children’s potential.
- work together with mainstream schools to build up capacity and provide for greater diversity of special educational and curricular needs.
What Support Do We Provide?
We will visit your school to observe your pupil, liaise with staff and gather information.
Staff will work collaboratively to devise a set of objectives that will form the basis of our working partnership. Subsequent visits will involve us offering and helping to implement strategies and advice to be used in the classroom.
We will also offer In-reach opportunities where your staff can attend relevant training sessions here at Shepherds Down. These are opportunities to extend skills, observe unique teaching environments and methods, create differentiated resources and work alongside specialist staff.
How to Access Support
If you are a mainstream primary school in Team 2 (Winchester, Eastleigh and Surrounding areas) and wish to access our services please contact us for a referral form. Once we have received the completed form, signed by your school and the parent of the child, we will arrange a convenient time with you to make our initial visit.
