School Nurses

We are Kelly & Emily and we are the school nurses for Shepherds Down School. Working alongside us are Beverley & Holly and together we will be caring for your children whilst they’re in school. We are in school 5 days a week for the duraton of the school day. We are employed by Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust who run Winchester and Basingstoke hospitals so have good links with the community nursing team and consultants there.

We hope to be an avocate for your children to ensure they are enjoying happy, healthy lives and staying out of hospital as much as possible. Our role includes managing medications, dealing with emergencies, educating and supporting school staff, day to day care of your childen such as weighing when necessary and liasing between education and health among other things. We also work closely with the Community Children’s Nursing Team in both Winchester and Basingstoke Hospital.
