Primary School Sports Funding 2017/18

 

In the academic year 2018/19 Shepherds Down School will receive £16,000 Sports Premium Funding.

This grant has been awarded to primary schools to enhance the opportunity for pupils to engage in physical activities.

 

This academic year we pland to spend the funding on:-

Replacing and Improve Sports / Exercise Equipment

We wiil spend £6,000 on replacing equipment such as PE mats, trampettes, physio mats, resources which enable active playtimes, balls & exercise equipment.

 

Provide Coaching and additional sports activities.

 

We will spend £10,000 on the following coaching and additional activities:-

  • Support for Swimming and increased access beyond statuory provision - pool hire and coach.
  • Interg8 Dance – with specialist dance opportunities for all pupils
  • Football coaching
  • Cricket coaching – Hampshire Cricket
  • Moo Music
  • Horseriding – Therapy, Interaction and mobility
  • After School Multiskills Club (The club costs £100 to staff each session. We charge £4 per child for each session. We have a maximum of 20 children attend. Over the year we have 30 sessions arranged. This equates to a cost of £600 if all the places are taken up).

 

All pupils across the school will benefit at some stage from the enhanced input.
